The Key to Clearance @Target

Everyone loves a discount.

Most people don't have a never ending supply of money. Even those people that do, love a true bargain. That is why when we see those big signs that scream discount, many migrate to those sections, especially in Target.

The next big question we ask ourselves (or the people we are shopping with) "What kind of discount" and "Will it go cheaper?" The one thing I hate most is to buy something and 2 days later it gets cheaper.

I am going to simplify this for everyone who shops CLEARANCE @ TARGET

First, Target discounts much of its inventory when new products arrive in the store and they need to sell off the older stuff.

Take a look at some of the tags I posted below.

In the upper right corner of the price is the percent discount. This tag is 50%. Look at the small 50 in the right corner.

50% Off

Second: The initial markdown at Target is usually 15%. In this case you and would see a price of 15% below original and a "15" in the upper right corner.

Third: Items end in a #8 or #6. For example $8.98 or $7.96, will be marked down again as long as the store still has it in stock.

Note: Holiday items, seasonal items, food, things with expire dates get marked down faster than regular items.

So the big question is "When am I getting the final discount AKA the best price?"

Well it is simple when the price ends in a #4. For example $4.94. These items are at the final price and will NOT be marked down again SO IF YOU LIKE IT BUY IT!

FYI: Prices that end in other numbers like 0, 1, 5, 7, 9 have no meaning and they are random.
